ALSACE
Specialized tour guides based in Alsace
Strasbourg—one of France’s most beautiful cities, but less visited—is only 2 hours and 15 minutes away from Paris by TGV, so it makes an ideal day trip or overnight from Paris.
Our tour guide will meet the clients at the train station and, after a quick taxi ride, will provide a fun and interesting walking tour of “the Grande Ile,” (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the Petite France quarter of the town— the most picturesque district of old Strasbourg. Fishermen, millers, and tanners once lived and worked in this part of town where the streets were built level with the waterways. The magnificent half-timbered houses date from the 16th and 17th centuries. The Maison Kammerzell is considered Strasbourg’s architectural jewel. The 12th Century Cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic art, is famous for its Astronomical clock and stained glass windows.
A few days in Alsace is also a good choice; this beautiful region is unique for its Germanic influences. Along with the two main towns—Strasbourg and Colmar—there are dozens of picturesque villages, including Turckeim, Kaysersberg, Ribeauville and Riquewhir. The medieval Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle is also a must see. We can arrange sightseeing, wine tasting, bicycling, and ballooning throughout Alsace.
